GERRI BOWEN and THE NEXT BIG THING

THE NEXT BIG THING: FIND OUT WHAT I’M WORKING ON NEXT

Stormie Kent was kind enough to tag me so I could participate in this game that is at the very least, trans-Atlantic.

This is a link to her site:

As a writer it’s sometimes difficult to get noticed, and short and easy games like this can help us all.

THE NEXT BIG THING

WHAT IS THE WORKING TITLE OF YOUR NOVEL?

LOVE’S BLOOD

WHERE DID THE IDEA COME FOR THE BOOK?

While listening to The Medieval Babes

WHAT GENRE DOES YOUR BOOK FALL UNDER?

Historical Paranormal

WHICH ACTORS WOULD YOU CHOOSE TO PLAY YOUR CHARACTERS IN A MOVIE RENDITION?

Britta: Uma Thurman   Erik: Dave Giuntoli   Erik’s Mother: Tippi Hedren   Britta’s Father; Sean Connery   Britta’s Mother: Emma Thompson   Jorge: Silas Weir Mitchell   Rolf: Michael Weatherly

WHAT IS THE ONE SENTENCE SYNOPSIS OF THE BOOK?

A wild-blooded Welsh woman and an outcast Dane are aided by two sapient animals on a mission to protect their humans and ensure they join in fruitful matrimony.

WILL YOUR BOOK BE SELF-PUBLISHED OR REPRESENTED BY AN AGENCY?

I hope my publisher, HIGHLAND PRESS, will publish this.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO WRITE THE FIRST DRAFT OF YOUR MANUSCRIPT?

I started this about three years ago and set it aside. Went back to it this year.

WHAT OTHER BOOKS WOULD YOU COMPARE THIS STORY TO WITHIN YOUR GENRE?

For the humorous Viking situations, I’d say Sandra Hill.

WHO OR WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO WRITE THIS BOOK?

While listening to The Medieval Babes I had an image of women sitting around a circle singing and chanting. The more I thought about that, the clearer the characters became.

WHAT ELSE ABOUT YOUR BOOK SHOULD PIQUE THE READER’S INTEREST?

One of the sapient animals in this story is Dromo the Magnificent, now a cheetah, and the second is Koozie as a raven. The heroine, Adyna who is now Britta the Giant Killer, is a full Wild-Blooded woman rapidly discovering all of her Wild-Blooded gifts.
